What a great week we've had!
First of all, I'm excited to announce that our sister Allie Turney got engaged to Jeff Elms on Wednesday April 25th! They will be married in the Fresno Temple on July 14th 2012.
On Monday I had a bunch of girls over to watch the new Footloose. Heads up, Dennis Quaid is totally my dad in that movie (in his dress and mannerisms...he would totally let all of us cut footloose if we felt the urge).
Tuesday, Adam got together with some guy friends and had a game night. He always has a blast with them. It's really fun for him to have other nerdy fellows to get together and do nerdy things together.
Wednesday, we went to the park on a rainy day. It was a lot of fun. Adam had scouts that night. If you are keeping track we haven't seen each other much this week. Allie called with her exciting news.
Thursday was book club. We were discussing a Scottish book and our hostess made sticky toffee pudding, which was a favorite treat on our England trip. We also went to the library and got one of our new favorite treats to share...FROZEN YOGURT!!!
Friday I spent the day in anticipation for news about the CCSD/CCED arbitration. Long legal battle short...if CCSD wins (Clark County School District) then Adam gets a 15 percent pay cut, and we won't get about 4 paychecks starting immediately (we wouldn't get paid until July and even then it would be a partial paycheck). Not fun. Allie and Jeff stayed over. Jeff had planned a guy weekend and Allie tagged along to see her nieces and favorite Las Vegas brother. We had another park day. It was a blast.
Saturday Allie, Hannah, and I had a big girl morning. We went wedding cake tasting and to the mall for another little park day.
Sunday (today) Allie and I went for a little run in the morning. We went to church and Jeff came back for Allie so we hung out with them for a bit before they had to drive back to Visalia.
Still no word on the arbitration garbage. I feel sick to my stomach thinking about taking a 15 percent pay cut on top of all the other financial concession teachers have made in the last three years (including salary freezes, benefits, etc) I feel even sicker thinking that the school district will take BACK the money that has been given to us but I have faith that everything will work out.

A Week in the Life 14 {4/16-4/22}
I got behind again so instead of trying to catch up I'll just say we had a great week!
*Adam and I went on a date (that means THREE dates this month) to the Country Superstar Tribute concert and it was awesome
*Hannah is still ROCKING the potty training
*I taught a lesson in Relief Society--it was terrifying
*Paige does a funny little crawl thing where she is trying to walk but can't quite get up
Finally, a shout out to Adam--greatest husband/father in the world. He's been making an extra effort to give me a break and to spend time with his daughters in not only quantity (which he has always done) but quality. He took Hannah to the park a couple days last week, the library, McDonald's to share an ice cream together, and has fed Paige every meal that she eats when he is home. He even planned a daddy daughter camp out in the back yard (I was invited and tried to camp out but had to come inside, pregnancy has ruined my ability to sleep on the floor :/ my tail bone is all messed up. But just look at those two little faces! It was worth it! We've even gone out for frozen yogurt as a family a couple times this week and tried 8 different flavors! It was a great week!

A Week in the life 13 {4/9-4/15}
I am trapped in my house!!!
So we started potty training again. I told Hannah "after California, no more diapers." It's a mantra we have been repeating for several weeks now. It totally clicked. She's had about three accidents in a seven day period which is pretty awesome. I feel like we can totally leave the house and she is getting there.
That is not why I am trapped.
Hannah has essentially been sick since February with a few breaks now and again. I'm sure as you go back through my blog you can track it. Since Hannah had RSV as an infant she has respiratory issues. She has to take a steroid for that. When she takes the steroid it makes her especially susceptible to colds and infections. As you can imagine, she got a cold which prompted the use of the albutreral which made her susceptible to another cold so we had to use albuteral which made her susceptible to another cold so we had to use albuteral (repeat, repeat, repeat!) so we are staying away from little kids until further notice which means no park, no library, no nursery. AND I've been using hand sanitizer like a crazy person, which, if you know me is NOT my style.
Paige is the sweetest thing. She got sick this time (she's gotten sick twice since the whole Hannah sickness thing started...in fact I think she was the one to give Hannah the sickness). She got her first tooth! She is working on another one that is not far behind. She is a total Mommy's girl. She is getting more and more curious about life and her surroundings and is getting fast. Ever since she was born she has been on the go. You might recall she rolled over 4 times when she was 11 days old. She always did this weird sit up thing before she could actually sit up and now she gets on her hands and toes and pushes up with her little bum in the air and tries to stand up.
My mom, and Ensign Grandparents came for a very quick but very fun visit. Hannah and Paige were both thrilled. Paige was giving everyone hugs and kisses and cuddles while Hannah was chatting away and wanting all the attention. Hannah even said she wanted to play a game and she would be Grandma Phyllis. We went to a park and I just drove around and showed my Grandma where I live, where I run, where Adam works etc. The nicest part was Adam and I were able to go on a date to the temple where we did sealings. After the sealings we went to Five Guys (a famous burger place--really big back east) and to my shock and amazement...I liked their hamburger better than In-N-Out which I never thought possible because I have been a long time loyal customer (I still like the fries better at In-N-Out). Hannah was very sad when they all left.
Hannah broke the back of the toilet by pushing the lid of the tank off, breaking off the corner. We were really lucky it didn't break in half. It broke into about twenty small pieces but I'm going to try and glue some of the bigger ones back together. Who knew that part of a toilet ran about $50-$110?!?!?! I'm glad she wasn't hurt and I'm glad nothing else was either.
The biggest news of the week is that Adam got a job at Forbuss Elementary. He will most likely be teaching 3rd grade with a possibility of 2nd or 4th as well. Adam has had a great 5+ years at Tanaka. He will miss his fellow teachers. He is excited to work under the new administration and excited to be so close to home (less than a mile!) Forbuss is a great school with lots of opportunities and it will hopefully aid him in his future endeavors to become an administrator. He applied for the transfer for these reasons and was lucky enough to be selected. He thought it was the shirt I picked for the interview and his winning smile but I think it has more to do with the fact that he is a hard worker with a technology background and two masters degrees. I'm so proud of him.
So that is our week. Sorry, no pictures.

A Week in the Life 11,12 {3/26-4/8}
It's been a busy but great couple weeks!
Highlights include:
Seeing Rosalie on our way to our California vacation, having lunch with the kids.
Hanging out with our favorite married siblings Addison and Amanda
Getting a four person "bike" surrey thing and riding it on the beach
DISNEYLAND--Yes, I cried walking through the gates as I always do. I cried when Hannah was so excited she was stammering when she saw the castle, the characters, etc. It was so magical.
California Adventure was actually more fun this time than any other time I've been. I was pleasantly surprised.
The BEACH! Hannah literally ran into the freezing ocean with joy and got all wet but kept wanting to go swimming. We read a bunch of books to prepare her for the beach so while we were there we had to wear sunscreen, swim in the freezing ocean, eat freezing ice cream, and build sandcastles because that's what you do on a beach gosh dang it!
So You know my last blog entry? I won a swimsuit. And it is a CUTE one! (I picked it out)
Hannah was afraid of EVERY ride at Disneyland/C.A. EXCEPT: Nemo, The Carousel, The Chew Chew Train (Bugs Life) and Small World. She LOVED Small World and so did Paige. We didn't do Pirates :/ because we knew Hannah would be too scared although she did agree to Haunted Mansion and buried her head in me the whole time and kept saying "I want to get me out of here! I don't love this!"
We got back and had an awesome Saturday which included an Easter Egg hunt, BUYING OUR HAWAII TICKETS!!!, and seeing The Color Purple at the Smith Center (it was fabulous). I also went to the wedding reception of one of my young women who felt more of a friend to me, Jenni Winn Hansen. It was a great day!
